about
I found many similarities between capitalism, manifest destiny, and the insatiable cannibal called wiindigoo, wīhtikow, and other monikers by several groups of Indigenous Peoples. I wrote a song about it, and my friend Sea F. Owe made it sound badass. Their friend Drew Rugg added some killer color via guitar.
lyrics
Isolation sharpening its teeth
Mass consumption can’t fulfill its greed
Gluttony won’t sate the wendigo
With its empty hunger, it grows
With its glowing eyes, it subjugates
Manifesting fate, assimilates
Gluttony won’t sate the wendigo
With its empty hunger, it grows
Dancing backward ‘round the beating drum
Countering the famine that has come
Gluttony won’t sate the wendigo
With its empty hunger, it grows
